CoEd Varsity Cross Country

The John Paul Cross Country team traveled to Woodberry Forest School on Friday to compete in the Woodberry Forest 47th Annual XC Invitational.  This course is the site of this year’s VISAA State Championships.  The Boys Varsity race, the team finished third out of 28 schools and was the first non-public school team.  Senior James Bertram (9th) and Juniors Elijah Thompson (17th) and Austin Colvin (19th) led the Wolves to their highest place ever at this invitational.  Senior Stephen Miller (41th) and Sophomore Louis Dobson (51th) rounded out the top 5 scorers for varsity boys harriers.  On the lady’s side, Juniors Missy Petras and Erynn Spiegeler led the team to a solid performance in the varsity girls race.  In the boys JV race, the Wolves placed their top six runners in the top 20 overall to finish in second place.  Congratulations to the Cross Country team on their fine performance at this Invitational.  Next up, this Saturday the team will compete in the Glory Days Grill Invitational at Bull Run Regional Park. CoEd Varsity Cross Country

The John Paul Cross Country team competed in the Virginia Christian Athletic Conference (VCAC) Meet #1 yesterday at Leesylvania State Park.  The JP Boys team pulled out a one point victory over Trinity Christian in this first in a series of conference meets.  Leading the boys team were Junior Elijah Thompson, Senior James Bertram, and Junior Austin Colvin who finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th overall.  Senior Stephen Miller’s 8th place and Sophomore Louis Dobson’s 10th place finish rounded out the top five scorers for the Wolves.  In the girls race, Senior Isabella Alicea and Sophomore Gianna Albanese’s 8th and 10th place finishes paced the JP lady wolves to a 4th place finish.  Overall the team saw lots of personal bests on this 5K course.  Congratulations to the JP Cross Country team on this early season success.  The Wolves are back in action this Friday at the Woodberry Forest Invitational.  Boys Team Scores  1 Saint John Paul the Great Cathol    27              2 Trinity Christian School                    28      3 Seton School                                      77                 4 Immanuel Christian School             110                  Inc. CoEd Varsity Cross Country

The Saint John Paul the Great Cross Country team hosted and competed in the JP Chaplain Invitational yesterday at Leesylvania State Park.  The boys team won the meet and were led by Junior James Bertram’s first place finish in a time of 16:44 for the 5K race.  Juniors Austin Colvin and Elijah Thompson, Senior Stephen Miller, and Sophomore Alexander Everson rounded out the top 5 scorers for the boys.  In the girls race, senior Isabella Alicea led the lady harriers team to a second place finish.  Juniors Melissa Petras, Erynn Spiegeler, and Katrina Carter  and Sophomore Gianna Albanese were the top 5 scorers for the girls team.  Congratulations to the boys and girls team on a great early season performance.
